Course Aims:
- To develop highly skilled manpower in radiological technology with proper medical science background so that they can understand the purpose and theoretical basis of radiological procedures, perform routine and specialized radiological examination by using modern equipment’s, operate and maintain radiological equipment’s and follow trends and approaches in radiological research.
- To develop the standard of education and ensure the quality of radiology and imaging technology education and also radiological practices.
- To help meet the requirements of large number of radiological technology experts in the government, non -government hospitals and diagnostic centers in country and all over the world.
- To control radiation hazard and ensure radiation safety by using proper knowledge for the patient, technologist and environment.
Course objectives:
At the end of this course the students will be able to-
- Prepare them with adequate knowledge to understand the purpose and basis of radiological procedures and their role in the diagnosis and management of diseases and to understand basic concepts of behavioral sciences that are relevant to establishing good interpersonal relationship.
- Gain knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology for understanding the structural components of the human body responsible for normal body functions.
- Understand normal functions of human body and interpret normal functions with a view to differentiate them from abnormal functions.
- Explain basic mechanism of diseases, etiology, pathogenesis, morphological changes and co- relate between clinical findings and Radiological findings.
- Understand theoretical basis of the operation of radiology equipments in order to run, operate and maintain them.
- Perform routine and specialized radiological examination using modern equipments and maintaining proper quality and standard, record report and interpret results of the tests using computers and other technology.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance in radiology as well as radiation safety measures.
- Develop attitude for continuous self-learning and self-assessment throughout the whole of practicing.
- Understand normal and abnormal radiological findings of human.
